Headlamp Washers...

Do they actually do anything, and how do you operate them? Cant seem to find the information anywhere... Seems like a waste of time to me... :P

yeah they do but only when lights are on.

when lights on clean screen as norm and head light washers come out on stalks and squirt lights.

looks weird when 1st seen. :blink:

more clever cars like the mazda 3 do one at a time to keep some sort of visibility :lol:

The MOT bloke who tested my car loved the headlamp washers :)

 

Mind you, I sh!t myself when I was testing the lights and winscreens washers in the garage and they went off without me expecting it :o

I was going to say how pointless I feel they are but at least they're reasonably unobtrusive unlike the monstrousities that appeared on most 80s luxury cars that included mini windscreen wipes over the headlamp.

 

One thing I have noticed is that the spray bars easily clog up with calcium deposits from the hard water round here yet the headlamp washers do not.

Maybe because the headlamp washers have a lot more pressure than the spray bars, and it blasts the scale/calcium out of the nozzles/pipes?
