Cracks In Door Pillars

Hello all,

 

I have recently purchased a '95 405 and all four door posts have 2" cracks at the mounting for the door restraining straps (that limit the travel of the doors).

 

The shell seems to be very thin by there (come to think of it, so do a few other areas of the car compared to what I'm used to) and I was just wondering how comon this is?
