Daft question maybe, but does a 205 Gti box fit onto a saxo vts/106 gti engine?

No.

Closet thing is a BE4 conversion from some late TU engine models. Do a Google search and you should find plenty of info as it's fairly common/popular on high power 106/Saxo's etc.

Plan b definitely worth looking at before you go buying diffs, if its for rallying with a j4 lump id say its a must.

iirc, the Partner 1.6 16v (TU5JP4) had BE4 gearbox... But do search; it's been done before on 106's etc.

an adaptor plate could probably be designed and made with the right know how.....someone with better knowledge might know but the first hurdle is the tu stands upright and the xu box is designed for a 30 degree tilted engine.

Thats what gwynnespeed do.

Though when theres a factory bellhousing that can be used, why bother?
