Mi 16 Rattle But Still Has Excellent Oil Pressure

Recommended Posts

not sure what to make of this if I'm honest the engine didn't rattle after fitting it, then drove up the road and came back testing the engine after it had been dropped back into the car (engine had been out for a month or so) sounds like there is a lot of vibration and as i pulled into the driveway i heard what sounded like a bottom end rattle, the oil pressure is nice according to the gauge in the car which rises nicely with the rpms of the engine

the engine has had a new water pump, cam belt, and some new but old stock cam belt tensioners

any ideas welcome as I'm a little put off now :(

Unfortunately, oil pressure isn't indicative - I was passenger in a car that we limped back from the Nurburgring with a spun big end shell and that was still showing excellent oil pressure, just as it had done previously (on a proper mechanical gauge too, rather than the hopeless standard fit item). Over 400 miles of knocking and rattling later, the oil pressure was unchanged.
