Cutting Hockey Sticks

I've looked every where for an answer but no joy, basically Ive fitted no 1 crank bearing. It seams sligtly to one side than the other, both the dowels are in place so can only centre. My only concern is when Ive cut the hockey sticks to 1mm the pieces of rubber thats been cut of arem both different length?
