The Golf driver didn't exactly give much room there did he! He's coming over into the middle of the road when the accident happened putting the 205 on the grass.

Why is the boot of the golf open at the beginning, I thought that had happened in the crash, but no it's ALREADY open!

My guess is he's already got a problem which is why he's going so slow. All it would have taken is a quick glance in his mirrors to see the 205, but with his boot open as well he should have heard the thing coming and made some effort not to sit in the middle of the road. It's not like he was taking the racing line either where he was.
