Mi16 Arp Rod Bolts - Where From?

Recommended Posts

stuart

I'm just starting to rebuild an mi16 and need to source some ARP rod bolts.

Where sells the correct ones cheapest?

I got them from QEP when I did the rally car engine but they're no longer trading.

Any recommendations?

Cheers

Stu

If you buy them from ebay, check if the seller has them in stock.

End of last year I bought a set from ebay and they were on back order at ARP, so most sellers could not ship them directly.

Might drop him a pm myself if i can't get hold of ARPs.

There's only 1 seller who has them on eBay but theyre £109 a set...

Spoox motorsport have them listed in their site at £87 so will give them a try first.

Thanks for the replies

I use standard bolts with standard rods and a sensible rev limit. ARP2000s are adequate upgrades, but for serious engines Carrillo/Pankl bolts are far superior and don't get the manufacturing flaws that are sometimes evident in ARP 2000s.

The engine I'm building is essentially a stock mi16 but with gti6 inlet, sump, pump etc on standalone management.

It's going in my daily driver but probably will be used on a track at some point so that was the only reason I was going to go for ARPs.

So with a 7200rpm limit the standard bolts will be up to the job?
