Tappy 306 Gti-6

Ive got a 70k gti-6 engine, still in the 306, sounds very tappy lately, any ideas?

changed the oil, check the spark plugs?

Its probably the head making a tapping noise.........

 

joking aside, could be a injector.

How long have you had the car?

 

Cambelts snapping prematurely was a common problem on gti6's, so could be a bent valve?

 

Or is this something that has gradually got worse with time?

Low on oil?

Only started noticeing it lately, oil level is fine as that was the first thing i checked. Not sure what else to check?
