Engine Flush

Recommended Posts

MiniGibbo

Im looking into changing the fluids in my 8v as i have no idea when anything was done as the car came with no history

The coolant is black and heavily stained with oil, this may be from a worn engine but i want to flush the engine properly then run clean fresh coolant to see how much of a problem i have.

Just wondering what stuff youd guys recomend as i havent actully got my hands dirty on a car for a few year snow

i would either buy some cheap oil [wilko have some for about £9] change oil and filter run take it for a good run then change it and but some good stuff in

or just change it for some good stuff

my mate used some engine flush years ago in a old ford, about a month later the oil light came on and the engine started to die.when we stripped it down the oil strainer on the oil pump was full of rubbish.the engine flush had worked to well!

but if you have oil in the water you have a bigger proplem.

Cheers dude I might do that with the cheap oil not a bad idea that..

Yeah I was concerned about the oily water however it starts first time from standing for weeks at a time and only smokes the usal you'd expect from a 18yo Peugeot lol.
