Vss Hybrid

Got a VSS from an early to mid 90s PSA car, which I forget (may have been a ph1 106) which looked like it could be used as a VSS with a cable drive and plug.

 

It has a cover on it:

I drilled the rivets out and removed the lid and it looked promising.

The 'correct' one would obviously have the housing and hole to keep the cable in. I was wondering if anyone had used one of these sorts and made it fit together.
