Anyone An Expert At Peugeot Planet 2000?

Recommended Posts

Hey there,

Ive got a 406 HDi Estate which weve taken the diesel particulate filter off, in an attempt to remove the annoying limp mode problems on long journeys and when towing. Unfortunately the problems persist, as the additive tank is now bone dry, and Im not keen on taking it to peugeot for a top up.

Anyway, the main thing I would like to do is tell the car that is doesnt have a DPF, as the 406 coupe HDi didnt have one, as I have got a replacement empty filter housing which simply bolted onto the exhaust system.

Anyone know if this can be done using PP2000, or does it require more indepth ECU tinkering? Ive got a copy of PP2000, and the relevant connector, but Im a bit of a novice with it, and am only just finding my way around with it at the moment..

Cheers

Craig

I think your best bet would be to get it mapped and get them to remove the dpf softwear.

Bump, anyone familiar with PP2000? I have permanent fault codes which I need to remove before I can attempt to remap it..

And also the constant limp mode is getting rather annoying now.. I was stuck behind a caravan for about 30 miles yesterday because I couldnt get past!! :(:P

I have pp2000, you can't turn the dpf off with it, and you can't clear the fault codes if the tank is empty, there's a procedure for refilling the additive, something to do with opening the filler cap, waiting so long, put 10 liters of diesel in, start it and leave it running for so long, turn it off and wait again, then read and clear the codes, so if you're not going to fill it up you can't do that.

I can remove the dpf with a remap, I think it removes the fault codes from the ecu as well, so it doesn't recognize it as a fault.

the guy that used to run superchips may be able to help, he will probably have checksums (raw maps) for most cars, i can probably get his contact number if you get stuck.

Thanks for the replies everyone :)

Thats the part Im worried about- Ive got ECUsafe, and a Galletto ECU flashing OBDII tool, as well as access to PP2000, but Im worried if I remap the ECU to remove the DPF, it might not get rid of the error codes, and Im stuck with them!

I may have a go with ECU safe soon, and see how i get on

Thanks

Craig

If you use ecusafe and it doesn't delete the codes then you could always put the original dump back on and figure out a way to trick the ecu into thinking the additive tank has been refilled (find the level sensor wires and put a resistor in or something), as soon as you get the light out try putting the ecusafe dump back on.

Which version of ecusafe are you using?

It seems to be version 1.9.1.6, its the only one I could find on the internet easily.

That is true, I will have a go at deleting it from the map, if that doesnt work, backfilling the additive tank with diesel is fairly easy to do, the pipes come out from on top of the fuel tank, easy to get to.

Thanks for the help, Ive never attempted anythign like using ECUsafe before, so Im a bit wary!
