Peugeot dealers often have them in stock (or atleast, certainly my local one does)

Don't forget to replace the nyloc nut while you're there!

from memory they're 50mm long M10 bolt,

the original part number is 6923 96 which is 85p, superseeded by 6291 91 (£2.68!) which is a 55mm bolt used for many other things right across the range for quite different applications.

The nut is 3622 30, 68p.

don't forget Citroen :)

make sure they sell you a bolt not a setscrew, have seen that before from a dealer which is not right as it isn't fit for purpose.

yeah they have used that part number.

just looked under the C15 van which is mostly base model 205 front end and the part number for that is 4010 86, 59p, same part number for the nut.

I noticed that they have been replaced with 692191, but those are threaded along their entire length, which is odd. Its definetly what all the models use now, but surely the old ones with the non-threaded part are better!?

If it's an emergency temporary fix, Screwfix sell M10 bolts with a plain shank (what you want) but they're only Grade 8.8 so shouldn't really be used for hammering around. If it's just for a couple of days you'll be fine, and you can get a pack of them for under a fiver.

Aren't the standard Peugeot ones only 8.8 grade from memory, with the high-tensile ones being sold either 10.9 or 12.9 depending on the seller?

The higher tensile ones will also require a higher torque figure to 'lock' the threads iirc.

The new ones (With thread all the way along - 692191) are 10.9, not sure on the old ones, 8.8 seems to ring a bell though.

Old ones are 10.9, or all of mine have been anyway!

I don't think you require a higher fastening torque to lock the threads, more that they can withstand higher torques (and clamp loads) due to the higher tensile strength.

Old original OE ones should be, but PUg seem to have a habit of supplying 8.8's or the wrong bolts altogether it seems!

Don't use those nuts though! You need a nyloc! & yes i've posted the HT ones hopefully to be with you in the morning!! ^_^

8.8's are fine at the standard Pug torque ratings tbh.
