Top gear was near where i live a while back recording an episode where they have caravans on train-lines, they were in Rothley train station. So watch this space for when that episode comes on TV, it could be in this series.

I think the last few series before have been way too silly (stupid campervans spring to mind!) But the series just gone was slightly better imo.

would be nice if they ventured into the modded car world, ie, cars with engine conversions etc not just spoilers, and had a track time board for them :)

Ok.. do you cry about things like HIGNFY being scripted? How about when you watch a live comedian like Lee Evans or Jimmy Carr; you know they don't just make that stuff up on the spot?

You know 5th Gear is scripted too, right? ;)

I'll see your millionaire's extortionate playtoy rip-off of an E-type and raise you the modern version of the e30 M3...

Clarkson has been bigging up the Eagle E-Type for at least 10 years - he must be well on the way to earning a free one for services to their marketing dept....

DId wonder which 911 Turbo he used as comparison for Power-to-weight if the Eagle is as slow as 5 secs to 60...

I'd take the Sport Evo, thanks Baz, probably just about similar in value right now...

Watching that and reading the Evo article last month did help me decide to put the 1-M on my "buy a low-mileage one in ten years time" list for my (currently imaginary!) car-based pension plans ;)

Ian; totally agree tbh, there's no way i'd spend £40k on a depreciation modern eurobox against a Sport Evo/Cecotto like the one pictured, especially as i'd be buying a usable (cheaper) one rather than a cotton wool-clad low miler... but still, there's something really awesome about that 1M! Plus the numbers being made may actually be against depreciation, a bit like the CSL. Only that's not good news for those like us that want to buy one in a few years!

ORB, i love you. Please let me know when you're ready to sign the adoption papers. ^_^

I found that howmanyleft.co.uk website they were talking about pretty interesting. For example there is only 10 Citroen AX GT Sportifs left in the UK... and only one of them is on the road  But there's 2362 205 GTIs still on the road :P

One of my first cars was a Citroen AX GT Sportif, an Freg in white.

I loved that car, I did not realise so few were left now,

But thinking about it now, it has been a long time since I have seen one.

I am guessing by the comments you like Eva?

We have had it since 2001, 1971 V12 5.3 - 50k since new. She has never had paint or any form of restoration other than routine maintenance and servicing. We are VERY proud of her, even though she is not the 'prized' Jag of the fleet!
