2.0Ltr 8V Conversion Help

Hi we are in middle of putting a 2.0ltr 8v zx engine into my 205 its an XU10J2C but we havent been able to get wiring diagram for the zx enigine anywhere not in the haynes manuals they seem to have all other diagrams. has anybody done this conversion before could they point in right direction as to which wires we need to get it up and running?

You can run this engine straight off the standard jetronic ecu with very little work but the later system gives a nicer, although not ultimately the best results.

 

This file should give you some help although its for the same engine in a 405, the wire numbers will be the same.

 

How much of the ZX loom have you got? afaik all the wires you need will go to the loom connector at the back of the battery tray, you are only looking for four wires in all but two to get it running.

 

Depending on the age & model(1.6 or 1.9) of your 205 you might not have the wire for the MIL light in place & you will need a rev counter signal converter to run from the ZX MM8P ecu.
