Wonding will the 1.8 XU7 coil pack work with a S40 DTA ecu?

Yes. The XU7JP4 (1.8 16v) coilpack is effectively just a wasted spark coilpack in a different package - one wire is 12v ignition, one for noise suppressor (if you use it) and two for firing each side of the coil.

Perfect, Dont know if there are wired the same as the bosch type coils packs as found on 106s etc? or its just the 1.8 coil pack iv got is no good.

most run 106 8v coilpack on dta, thats what im using.

its nigh on identical to the TU coilpack, just has the wiring connector at a different angle, its the same unit as the 2.0 8v and the 1.9 8v that runs Motronic (ZX, BX 405)

I'm using 405 SRI but the Corsa ones Sandy had when Iit was mapped it seemed even better.

Get the Bosch ones. They are much better made than cheaper alternatives. I had some cheapos on and they fell to bits!

 

Corsa B as stated. Get them from Frauds for c. £30.

 

Any sagem or valeo type wasted spark coilpack will do you. They are on most older Vauxhalls as well as Pugs.

XU7J4 coilpack:

 

Pin1 Coil 1-4

Pin 2 Coil 2-3

Pin 3 12v

Pin4 connected to pin3 internally for suppressor cap
