benny205mi16 19 1 Cars Posted March 9, 2011 Hello, I am torn over this, I am thinking a light smoke (30% tint) might look good on my 205, its a silver one. But I do not want it looking like a boy racer/chav wagon, I am thinking more BMW/ Mercs What do you think? Does anyone have any photos of 205s with light window tint. Thank you
JRL 14 1 Cars Posted March 9, 2011 The 205 gtis come with bronze tint already, personally i think ultra clean gleaming glass looks better.
DRTDVL 4 1 Cars Posted March 9, 2011 (edited) Window tints are a must here... damm uv... i like them tinted... clear vs 30% (nz legal max) Edited March 9, 2011 by DRTDVL
mainline 2 1 Cars Posted March 9, 2011 I would leave it. You want it to be subtle so that you don't look like a boy racer - so why bother? It has tinted windows anyway.
kyepan 291 Posted March 9, 2011 i think a very slight tint might look really good on a very tidy slightly interesting looking car. however 30% would be too much, i'm talking almost not noticeable, except to make it look slightly different.
benny205mi16 19 1 Cars Posted March 9, 2011 DRTDVL thanks for putting the photos on, I think yours looks good, enought tint to look different but not over done. I just can not decide, mine is going into the bodyshop soon for new wings an auto bonnet and some rust spots to be sorted, so i think ill try and decide once its back. I will give it a good clean and put some pictures on here and see what people think first before I do anything to the windows. Thank you
DRTDVL 4 1 Cars Posted March 9, 2011 (edited) Haha sorry thats my friend Rob's car, i've got the caged 205 with no tint... I'll be looking to tint it later as i really hate the heat and glare we get here in nz. We have a 30% tint on my gf's 307 also best thing we ever did. But our sun strength is very different to yours - we have 15 min burn times in summer due to the ozone hole above us. It's not actually as dark as it looks but it does make robs car look stunning: Edited March 9, 2011 by DRTDVL
Daviewonder 533 3 Cars Posted March 9, 2011 I would say don't do it, it looks naff!
shalmaneser 26 Posted March 10, 2011 They've already got a bronze tint anyway, I recon that's enough!
Boost_junkie 0 Posted March 20, 2011 It can be a bit boy "racerish" but subtle tints like the ones in the pics I think look quite good. You could get another set of windows and tint those then you can change them back over if you like they look pants and flog the tinted ones on??
BERTMAN 40 1 Cars Posted March 20, 2011 i think a subtle tint looks good
number2301 1 1 Cars Posted March 23, 2011 You can't legally tint the front side windows, they come with a tint from the factory and they don't make a mild enough tint to add on top of that which will remain legal.
