Have you seen it yet? a lovely little un-molested red 1.9. They are offering a winter check for 19.99 from your local Pug dealer.

Just incase you havnt seen it, the old rep seems to still have a childish grin for the 205

I have just seen it tonight, tempting to waste £20 and take my car in and see what they make of it, not much is standard now!

Cool, I'd not seen that before. Slightly off topic- I caught 10 minutes of an episode of 'A touch of Frost' last night and that had two 205 GTIs (cherry and grey) in the bit I saw. :)

good to see they are still using them :)

as for taking pugs into peugeot dealers,i remember once i went down to my local one in my mi16,a couple of the mechanics came out and a sales rep, they said they would love to service it for me,i said go ahead and have a look, they popped the bonnet and look puzzled (should add they were all very young) at which point a much older guy come out and he loved it and he used to have one with a mi16 in,then he turned to the young lads and said 'this is a proper car,not for you nancy boys in your flash new cars ' hahaha i could stop laughing

on the other hand, peugeot in harrogate,if i remember right, its about 4 years ago, their parts manager and master mechanic both had stock hatch 205s they had built and raced and they were kept in the same garage, they were brilliant to deal with and could get almost anything in no time and knew exactly what i wanted every time

I just saw it, obviously its nice to see a 205 on tv but as they don't make a lot of parts for them any more I would describe it as false advertising.

Most current Peugeot dealer technicians wont have ever worked on a 205, the apprentices they will have doing this £20 scheme certainly wont have done.

Hi,

I tend to agree with Jack on this. Peugeot always wheel the GTi out when it suits them. My efforts over the last year to obtain trim information and per model stats have just been ignored, as have my attempts to get information about the trim and also any suppliers who are still in the field. Absolutely no assistance whatsover. They don't care about this car and as a aussie member of this forum pointed out - why should they, they make and sell new cars anything else is just tolerated.

regards

Dave

If thats 'Davids Peugeot' then it sounds like Spike on here - he went solo about 4 years ago

I don't think I'd trust Peugeot with my 205, nothing to plug the computer into!

Is it a real GTI or just a mock up....as it looks like it has clear glass and the towing eye is on the drivers side and not the passenger side. Nice non sunny though.

The front towing eye is in the same place whether its LHD or RHD. The wiper arms show that the 205 gti in the ad is a LHD model.

if you look on the link in the first post the towing eye is on the correct side and the car is a left hand drive, but as thats the frence version of the ad, they have probably reversed the picture for the english ad so the cars right hand drive and hence the towing eye on the wrong side.

I will look more closely when I see it on tv next time to see.

Does it really matter whether its a left hand or right hand drive or whether the windscreen wipers are correct?? its obviously a genuine 205, its just nice to see one on the tv!
