309 Question

Anyone know when they were released and what changes were made apart from the improvement to the rear end?

Off the top of my head,

 

- Grille changed to 205 style 3 bar.

- Dash changed from old looking thing with loads of cubby holes to more modern thing with none.

- Most major interior change is the movement of the rear wiper switch from the middle of the dash to the wiper stalk (yay!)

- Seats changed, from stripey grey/black with red piping to red check, a la 205 gti phase 2.

- Engine bay changed subtley, the coil is moved from the right hand side of the bay to the top of the inlet manifold.

- Rear spoiler (GTI) changed to more modern style

- Gear box changed from BE1 (lift reverse) to BE3.

 

Dont know when the changeover was exactly, but i know it was during the G-reg year.

1989 was the change over from phase 1 to phase 2.

 

changes were:

 

rear lights changed and the boot door.

rear spoiler changed

dash and control stalks changed

seat material and style changed

 

and few others i can't remember at the moment.

Well I'd never noticed that before.

and the side repeaters are lower down on the front wings as well.

 

the rear wiper doesn't look like an afterthought (like the p1 does!)
