Limited Edition Kit Factory Fitted.. Advice

Recommended Posts

Carbs4me

Hello all,

Just wondering if you guys can help me with my 205's kit, and help me find where it came from? as ive heard afew rumors about it.

Basicly the rumors ive heard is this kit was made by a pug dealer when the 205's first came, the guy liked them that much that he fitted all the 1.9 205Gti's with this kit when they got to his show room, it was only his showroom that did this.

The kit is Stamped KB on the front valance, rear valance, gutman grille & side skirts. the spolier is stamped by pug.

Any advice of how or the wear abouts of where this kit orginated from would be great!

Here are the pictures

It's not a Dealer acc or if it was just the supplying one as the Factory kit as such was listed in the UK Acc brochure, the tea table (Sorry Spolier) is a Pug Item from this book and I'm afraid nothing Limited about it at all

haha yeah i get alot from of feedback from the spoiler, never heard it called a tea table before tho.. normally get called a shopping trollery! i do know that the spoiler is nothing special, But what about the bumpers and all that... does the KB that is stamped in the center of all the parts mean anything? ive seen 1 or 2 other exactly like this one.

Not upto date on Kit's but it would off been one of the huge amount of people supplying them back them, Nothing to do with Pug in General but some dealers did do odd things but the owner might of requested it when new

The sills look like the Pug ones, Do the rears on the qtr panels have slat markings in them

Sad old Henry strikes again! :)

As Miles said the rear spoiler is the genuine Peugeot accessory which came out around 1989 as some limited Miami and Sorrentos have it on.

If you look closely, you will see it is actually an ornate HB and not KB. This is Horst Belding, a German company. These kits were often distributed through the same network as Gutmann kits and this is the original "Gutmann Grille" as Gutmann never made one themselves

The front is quite similar to a Zender one, which everyone* thinks is what is on Shinys white 205, however he had modified it quite a bit (here are some pics of two cars with bodykits, single wipers and non-standard mirrors etc :( ).

*Just to be clear for Surgies benefit, the white one is a Zender front valance that has been modified, so you cannot buy that exact valance from Zender

Well all I read was came out on some Sorrento's and I thought just what I need to be different but not completely violate the "special editioness", does that boot panel also fit the era? I so want one!!!

The spoliers and rear panels pop up on ebay every so offen.

The panel is harder to come by than the spolier, and theres diffrent variations of them...

But yes they will fit any model of 205's

Easiest option is to pop to your local Tesco, got loads parked up outside.

The rear skirt and spoiler are hideous, the side skirts and front bumper not good at all (but Shiny has made it work very well on his car) but the debadged grill was ahead of time and best thing they offered IMO. The dealer should have been shot if he really did fit this crap to ever GTi that he sold lol

All Shine did was take the middle lines out and fit brake cooling pipes where the driving lights should go, its still a Zender valance just like a 205 gti with a mi16 engine is still a 205 gti

I agree a lot of other after market kits are hideous, the Zender side skirts im not keen on tbh but iv always liked the sloping sides of the 205 any ways. I think Peugeot should of had lower valances as standard imo, they just seem to high up even when the cars lowered.
