106 Beam Bearings The Same As 205 Ones?

Recommended Posts

i gotta rebuild the wifes quicksilver beam as when i tried lowering it i must have dislodged the bearings as its now crunching and knocking something rotten.

i read that they are the same as the 205 ones? is this correct. james told me they sit on/in the trailing arms as opposed to in the tube. but was just wondering if by chance they were the same.

cheers

no but I have read that one of the 205 ones does fit if the spacer is narrowed.

IIRC 106 bearings are the same as 205 outers. The 205 bearings have more needles/bearings in them though.

You can fit 4 bearings inside 106 trailing arms if you remove the spacer....... Which is nice!

Be prepared for at least one of the shafts to be f***ed though. There's a company in Leicester that will press you new shafts in while you wait for £70 a side if needs be.

I f***in hate 106/saxo beams!!!!

Can you buy new shafts or do they need to be machined from scratch?
