Separate Garage Insurance

Recommended Posts

Hello folks. I've been offered a garage to rent from a local letting company, it's in a nice development of older people and despite being at least 30 years old, is a meticulously maintained development. They stipulate I can't work on the car there, but if the door is closed... :) .

The landlord has stipulated that I would need to get insurance for the garage. My home and contents insurer Legal and General greeted me with an emphatic no, so do any of you folks have any experience of companies that would offer this?

Any responses gratefully received.

Mark

I couldn't find anyone who were willing to insure it on its own but I went to NFU mutual and they insured my house and workshop together for just over 200 quid.

My workshop is on a farm 5 or 6 miles from the house and its now covered for up to 15000 pounds contents so maybe its worth a shot for you?

Best of luck,

Gareth.
