Be1 Gearbox Whining

g'day from oz, i got a 205gti 1.9 with what i believe is a be1 box (reverse next to 1st)

it makes a whining noise at crusing speeds 70kmh+ when it is warm. the sound seems like its coming from the box.

the sound stops when i pull it out of gear, and stops and starts when i jab at the throttle. there is a tiny bit of vibration coming from the floor when its making the noise too.

any idea on what it could be? or how i can fix it?
