Map Sensor

Hi,

 

Just got my 205 running to night on a dta s40 ecu and the map sensor isnt reading tryed changing setting etc but no joy and tryed a diffrent sensor, Using a 306 gti map sensor, any reason why this sensor wont work with the dta ecu?

it might be a dead sensor, not uncommon.

Are you sure you have the wiring right to the sensor, if it is wired wrong you may get a fixed MAP value all the time.

Its wired right far as i know swaped the wires around and it said sensor fault

The only reason I ask is that I wired mine up wrong to start with! I had to take the pins out of the plug and move them round.

Another thought, is this on a turbo or NA engine, and where have you mounted the take off for the MAP sensor, e.g. before or after the throttle.

i got it pin 1 5v 2 grd and 3 sig i think. i only swaped the live and grd around didnt move the sig.

According to auto data pin 1 is signal, pin 2 is ground and pin 3 is +5v

I've never been able to get the GTi6 map sensor to work with Haltech systems. It works backwards or something.

All sorted now, changed to using a GM one now.
