Another Dead Gti :(

crashed my phase 1 on friday nite. I was half way round a long sweeping right hander on a nice warm dry night and all of a sudden the road got wet and there was a huge puddle on the road (i mean the full width of the road, 1ft deep and 20ft long because the farmers field drains had burst), there was nothing i could do but hold on. i came out of the puddle facing the verge on the right hand side of the road, went up the verge, smashed through the farmers stone wall, slide about 5ft along it and mustve hit a solid bit because it threw me about 15ft in the air, i did 2 barrel rolls in the air, landed 40ft down the road on my side of the car on the wall again them it went onto its wheels and rolled backwards onto the road. the cars destroyed but im lucky to still be here so im happy. not a scratch or a bruise!

Sorry to hear, but at least you are ok. In all fairness your 205 has protected you well and hasn't crumpled. Gives me some confidence to get one again, albeit not yours !

What a bitch, glad you are okay. As already said, looks as though the 205 did well considering what it went though (literally).

sorry but the farmer is liable

if his drain had been maintained the accident would not have happend,he has a duty of care and has been negligant.

get some legal advice.

I'm glad you came out of it ok! Just goes to show that, regardless of what people say about the build strength of 205's, yours did a bloody good job keeping you in one piece!

damage is only cosmetic, the shell looks fine.

Though it would cost a fair bit to put right.

Looks like you need at least

1 Sill

2 rear quaters

1 wing

bonnet

Bumpers

Valances

lights

A sill cost me £53 for a genuine one last year.

If you can weld, it might be worth looking into saving it?

At this stage I still don't see the point, maybe in 20 years when the shells fetch escort money!
