205 Roof Skin, Genuine Now No Longer Available!

Hi all,

 

There are some posts regarding 205 roof skins, enabling us to get rid of our sunroofs, some of you have patched it for track use, some of you may have brought a new roof skin from Peugeot,

 

However I have been told by the local dealer that they are now no longer available as genuine panels but non genuine ARE available, he was unable to tell me where to buy one from though,

 

Any ideas where you can buy a new roof skin from?

As far as i know, the only way is to find a 205 in a scrapyard with a good roof and use that. I have done it along with a good few others.

 

cut the roof off the scrap car well down the pillars, take the roof home and spend the rest of the day removing spot welds and the old framework. Then you'll have a roofskin no different from an OE new one.

Ta PUGNUT but realy would like a NEW skin if possible, even non genuine!!!!

believe me, if they were avaliable then someone on this forum would know. As far as i know they have been discontinued for about two years or so.

even the non genuine? Peugeot said its showing as available but he was not sure where from!!!

I had a look through the Hadrian? panel book at work and it appears that there's not many aftermarket body parts available for the 205, it was just sills, door skins, bonnet, wings, headlamp panel and rear quarters IIRC, I was looking to get some inner wings for mine.
