zebedy101 0 Posted May 17, 2010 Just had the spray out and had some fun with the wing mirrors, I personally think they look really good. What do you all think?

Tom Fenton 1,529 Posted May 17, 2010 (edited) Hard to tell from the pictures, but I usually do this to my 205's, but mask around the recessed part and paint that. Like this or this (done on both my cars) It looks like you've painted the lot? PS- don't be tempted to paint the door handles- it looks awful! zebedy101 0 Posted May 17, 2010 Thanks for all the comments I have just done the recess, I don't think it would look right with the whole mirror done. I wasn't sure how they would look but I'm chuffed to bits. Shhhh I didn't think anyone would notice my center cap or my spots, they are on the to do list though. pacey205 2 Posted May 17, 2010 PS- don't be tempted to paint the door handles- it looks awful! Oi, I think mine look quite good I like the mirrors though but agree just the recessed part looks best. I did consider doing it to mine but never qutie got round to it.

Henry Yorke 269 3 Cars Posted May 17, 2010 I've done this on previous ones. Once I got some RGM carbon look covers and painted them first before bonding on. agan they fit into the recessed bit. I didn't do them on my skip, though I think it looks much better on brightly coloured cars as it makes them look wider.
Richie 32 Posted May 17, 2010 Never been a fan but they look good.

zebedy101 0 Posted May 17, 2010 Thanks everyone. I quite like your door handles actually, but I think mirrors and door handles may be a little too much red.

Obey_R 23 Posted May 17, 2010 Without stealing the thread, my wing mirrors have been done at some point but it's very faded and flaking. Any ideas how I can get the old paint off to either treat the plastic or go over the top again? Failing that, could I just whack some primer onto the old paint and re-do them all? zebedy101 0 Posted May 18, 2010 Sand it down with a bit of wet and dry so the surface is nice and smooth, mask it all up then primer etc. That's what I would do I'm no expert with paint, so maybe others have a better way?
MrG 3 Posted May 18, 2010 good stuff Seb, Obey, personally I'd just replace them as going over with black paint after sanding down doesn't always look right IMO.
Obey_R 23 Posted May 18, 2010 For the price of some new mirrors it would probably equate to the same amount in paint and primer anyway, so might as well just get some new'uns!
Cameron 16 Posted May 18, 2010 Cool, I'm gonna do mine yellow now.
Atari Boy 11 Posted May 18, 2010 Now we all know that red 205 go quickest, so in theory, as you now have more red paint on your car, it should go even quicker.
MrG 3 Posted May 18, 2010 well in that case OBEY, so as not to prostitute myself, pm me as I have a pair going from the Miami!
zebedy101 0 Posted May 19, 2010 (edited) Really starting to love my 205 again after getting a tad bit fed up with it being a mobile project. Excuse my front number plate I'm waiting for a stick on one to arrive. Edited May 19, 2010 by zebedy101
