omega 82 Posted May 15, 2010 today at about 1130 i saw a white 205gti in rotherham what was strange was the wheels ,on the front he had speedlines and the rear had pepperpots so 15 on the front and 14 on the rear the car looked tidy i suppose he done it either for gearing or brake upgrade but ive not seen this before anybody on here own it? SurGie 54 Posted May 16, 2010 (edited) Yes, both the front and rear have to be the same size, ie 15 inch for example. But the two tires at the front have to be the same, ie 50, even if the rear two are slightly different in height of tire. Mine passed with the two front being different to the rears. Just what I was going to say, half of the new mercs have bigger tyres on the back than on the front. I assume they have to match across the axle. I've seem lots of fords on 205 wheels actually, a guy near me used to have a capri on 1.9s, and in Brighton I've seen a fiesta on 1.6 wheels. Both looked quite good I thought. I assume they have to match across the axle. yes they have to match across the axle merc smart cars also have diffrent size tyres front and rear and no spare which is great for me as i sell/install a lot of my puncture safe on these.
