A Serial Car Buyer

Recommended Posts

I am have to admit.

Here's me with one 205 (my track car...love it), so then I get the Miami with all good intentions and lo and behold here I am with a Sorrento green 1.9? Just sorting the bits out so it'll make a nice daily driver, and what do I find myself doing..yep that's right I'm casting about to see what's around???

Now I know it'll never get agreement from the boss, however I can't help but think about getting a late (93/94) 1.9 or even a late 1.9 CTI? There's no hope you know, if you suffer from this you're effectively doomed.

So am I alone, is there a club that can help me?

I can see it now (in a dream like state)

Hello, my names MrG and I am a serial car buyer.

"all start to clap and welcome me aboard"....

I know what the answer is though, I don't see buying more cars as the problem. The problem as I see it is, I either have a small garage, no driveway or nowhere to store another car.

It's usually the day I buy my car I'm looking at what I want next.

I've had 16 Cars since April 06 (still got 4) and 5 motorbikes since August 04.

Hoping to have another car very soon... :)

It's Bipolar/cyclothymia.

You don't even want to know how many cars i've had in the last year, it's double figures alone in the last 6mths.

you see here we go again, I would like a Euro Rallye 1.3 complete with carbs. The list is getting longer. I can see years of therapy ahead.

Therapy doesn't help, it only briefly makes you think you're ok.

Baz, there's only two known cures for this, the bank manager and the misses. As if you get around one the other will surely put a block on it. But maybe I'll go down the therapy route to start with to show wiling.. :)

I can't help myself looking for another car all the time. I am madly set on getting a Miami blue 205 ATM but insuring it aswell as the red gti6 is another thing. I even have a set order in which I intend on buying the cars too.

First off Miami blue then 2.0 turbo it

Second a Lazer Mi16

and then 3rd a bog standard White 1.9 Gti for the collection.

I hate the restrictions caused by insurance and petrol costs buggerr.

I once bought two red 205 gti's in the space of about an hour from two seperate people just because I decided it would be "nice" to own a 1.6 and 1.9.

I also have this car addiction but luckily I've run out of room as I have 4 cars in my parents drive, 1 in my drive and one out on the road. I even had to turn down a free Roland Garross back in December due to lack of room :)

I am worried that I'll eventually find a pristine Rallye just as I have no money to buy it.

There's a meet this Saturday folks.

Clapping compulsory, as well as tearful hugs as we all realise how hopelessly addicted we are.

My favourite bit is that first drive home, although I am disappointed if I don't find at least one pound coin under the rear bench seat.

I find that the number of cars I have rapidly expands to fill the amount of space I have to keep them on. Like data on a hard disk, driveways seem large initially but soon fill up...

I have had my GTi for 6-7 years now.

One is enough - if you have a problem with this for God's sake get a grip!!! you can only drive one bloody car at a time after all.
