AtoM 0 Posted April 1, 2010 Hello! This is my 205 1.6 gti. I bought it 7 years ago and since then it has made me smile a lot but has also given me some major headaches. I have never known a 205 that has had so much strange problems and so hard to find what was, but probably that was what made me be so attached to it. The interior was ok, only both the front seats were a little ripped off. This was when i bought it, it had less than 100000miles and had been stoped for the last two years. With help of some friends and polish on a long afternoon we gave it back a good look During the years i´ve changed engine twice and a lot of parts had also to be changed, this has slowed down all the mods and projects that i had in mind for it. Some more pictures of it that i´ve had during the years. I´ve had some major problems twice with the wiring loom, some wires that broke and it was a enormous headache to find what itwas, but in the end it all came out good. And have also recovered all the interior. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y197/Atom205/DSC01884.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y197/Atom205/DSC01864.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y197/Atom...06072008022.jpg Finally the problems stoped and i had the chance to start to do something to it. First it was lowered with sparco srings the 15´s were back
AtoM 0 Posted April 1, 2010 I´ve done a trackday with it, two sessions of half an hour each, which was great fun and the car was perfect without any problems http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y197/Atom205/DSC02301.jpg http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s83/Tra...ao/DSCF3267.jpg http://crashed.crxpt.com/data/media/283/_MG_6370.jpg http://crashed.crxpt.com/data/media/283/_MG_6412.jpg After the trackday, some touge action http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y197/Atom205/DSC02455.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y197/Atom205/DSC02922.jpg In September of the last year, i´ve decided that it was time for a good revision on it. All the gaskets were replaced, some water and oil pipes, engine mount, wishbones, droplinks, loads of euros flying... this was how it was when i took the head out Everything had to beperfectly cleanded and the head was skimmed. By this time i´ve also bought a complete Magnex exhaust system http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y197/Atom...08102009010.jpg I had no money, so i had to sell the 15´s, and put the rallye wheels on it. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y197/Atom...08102009004.jpg During this Christmas started a new era for it Gaz GHA coilovers, front and rear http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y197/Atom205/DSC02638.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y197/Atom205/suspenso.jpg And a Megasquirt programable ECU http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y197/Atom205/DSC03219.jpg the new loom http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y197/Atom205/DSC03231.jpg on its place http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y197/Atom...18022010008.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y197/Atom...18022010009.jpg the trigger wheel and sensor http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y197/Atom...19022010002.jpg The car is already running but not exactly how it is supposed to, when it is still cold there isn´t any problem, but when it gets to its normal running temperature sometimes it loses signal and it is possible to hear the fuel pump relai cutting. I´ve tried different sensors and positions, and the only conclusion i´ve got to is that the newer the sensor, the fewer times it happens. The future plans for it are: 1.9 gti engine swap (which i already have at home) itb´s different camshaft improve the exhaust system to match the engine needs. Hope you guys like it I´ll keep on struggling with it and keep you posted.
