Spoox now do a 1.22 gigawatts flux capacitor, which is reportedly better.

That and the seats folded down is the way forward.

i also do this but only because i can never afford to put more in

don't forget the more weight you get rid of the better your power/weight ratio will be which is the most important figure :P

i have a classic mini that although it only has 123bhp its about 200bhp per ton and my 1.6gti can't touch it

also you will realise that you want to be more concerned with the torque figure than the BHP figure

A bit of a once over will work wonders..

re-earthing everything, including re terminating some of the more corroded wires.

Test the plug leads for high resistance or breakage

Check the cap and arm for corrosion

Test the AFM resistance against tolerances as the flap is opened

Check water temp sensor in boiling water to see how it's resistance reacts.

once that's all sorted it should at least be electronically running as best as it can, then it's just down to how well your rings seal..

If it has a knock sensor, run it on super.

If it is an MI - get a stage one regrind from peter t.

Do the brakes with decent quality pads, and high temp fluid.. then put on lighter wheels to reduce unsprung mass / increase acceleration.

Or strip it and reduce weight.

Back in 1994 the Benetton F1 team were accused of using traction control while it was banned in the sport, they denied this and years later the technology used to help schumacher get those fast starts has been revealed.

The cars were coated with gametes syrum, it was discovered the best method of application was to pour it into a chaussettes and wipe it over the body work front to back. The reduction in drag was amazing and a very well kept secret.

Take the rear seats out to reduce weight, you can then store them safely in the boot.
