Hi there need recommendation regarding headgasket spray such as permatex headgasket spray or permatex indian headgasket shellac solution.

Is it good to apply any of this to the headgasket or best leave it none applied?

Any advice is highly appreciated.

Thks.

Is this for a simple headgasket replacement? If so don't put anything on the gasket. Make sure head and block are clean and smooth, place gasket in without additives etc.

I've used a special copper spray for use with copper gaskets before, but nothing on a typical OE or motor factor factory replacement.

What's this stuff supposed to do?

it's suppose to aid sealing and is gasoline,anti-freeze and oil resistant. Ok 2 opinion for nothing on gasket. Thanks a lot.

Using shellac on gaskets is definitely not snake oil but AFAIK it is very old fashioned and not a good idea with a modern gasket.
