Bx And 405 Mi16 Engines And Wiring

Sorry i used search and couldn find answers lads and i need to know now can a citroen bx be wired using mi loom from a 405 or do i need get specific loom?

It depends how you mean this, a BX engine can run in a 205 using the 405 loom but the 405 loom isn't long enough to fit the ecu in the standard place on a BX under the drivers seat afaik.

 

As long as they engine & loom are from similar age car / engines (both alloy blocks) then either loom will work with either engine but a loom from the 405 might have the 3 row M1.3 ecu which had a knock sensor which the BX never used iirc.

So basically i have the engine in a 205 and have a selection of ecus 2 row, 3row and bx but no looms as of yet so must have look out for one..
