harley 0 Posted January 26, 2010 Been reading through all the past threads about the heater blower problem and I think it's probably the rehostat that needs replacing. However the blower has come on a couple of times recently, for nearly an hour the last time! Am i right in thinking the rehostat looks like a thin metal card with a black plastic unit attached to the bottom where the white plug goes in? I've had it out and apart from a bit of dust it seemed in fine condition? Also a friend seems to think this issue could be caused by a sticky relay? Thanks in advance, Harley
grandos 16 Posted January 26, 2010 Sounds like a rheostat issue to be honest. Your description sounds correct too. Its fitted just next to the heater blower in the passenger footwell. Cause could be internal within the rheostat, I personally had one that the metal strip came away from the unit that sticks out on one side, soldering it was a temporary fix however, as it progressively became worse again. A new one fixed it. Try to borrow a known good one to rule it out. (just incase it is something random)
harley 0 Posted January 27, 2010 thanks. I have a friend with a ph1, I assume they use the same rheostat?
