Injector Cleaning

Isnt there something to do with Mi16 throttles wearing or something? not to big on my 16v XU's :$

I think the theottle bodies themselves are generally getting worn out these days, as well as the air flow meters, but the 2 I have seem to be ok for the time being.

Did you get the injectors cleaned? did it make any difference?.

 

Been preping my MI for its MOT and it has a misfire and seems to be running on 3 cyliders, when it warms up it does improve and clears between 2.5-3K revs.

 

Found out that some of the injectors are leaking so when the engine is started theres too much fuel to burn, 2 ways I get around it

1. Remove plugs and remove the fuel relay (green one) and turn the engine over for about 5-10 seconds, replace fuel relay and plugs.

2. Just remove the fuel relay, if the car starts then you know you've got leaking injectors.

 

I prefer method 1 as engine oil pressure is established with no compression resistance but takes a little longer.

Method 2 is OK if your in a rush but runs like a bag of nails on the cylinders that the injectors leak.
