90* V6 Conversion?

Recommended Posts

unariciflocos

In the search for a new crank for my Mi I stumbled upon this 3 liter V6 for a really nice price with less than 80k miles on the clock and I'm temped to do the conversion.

Does anyone know what model engine this is and if it will fit in the bay of a 205? Someone said it is the 90 degree one and that it wouldn't...

Thanks,

Andrei

ZN3J from a 505 - PRV6 (douvrin?) Is the 90 degree engine I think produced in conjunction with Renault/Volvo.

Doesnt look like it would fit, but anything can with enough fabrication.

It's the old PRV V6 that was used in a lot of 70s/80s cars. The 24V version would have come from a 605 or Citroen XM.

They're physically enormous (it was originally supposed to be a V8), and won't fit in a 205 engine bay.

I did some searching myself and it seems to be a later PRV from a Citroen XM. Such a shame as it is the 203 BHP model. I guess it's back to searching for Mi parts then.

Interestingly tho, was used in R25's so would make a nice mid engine 205 with an r25 transaxle

they had a fair few reliability issues from what I found on the internet, notably cams wearing out IIRC!

They CAN fit a 205, but it's a pointless excercise.

I've dropped the idea. I have a lead on a new generation 60* V6 with a failed head gasket and I may attempt using that if the price is not to steep.
