Oe 205 Dash Blanking Plates

Recommended Posts

Atari Boy

I came across this picture on Google earlier, think it is a Rallye,

I have never seen a UK or French Rallye in the metal so am not sure if the blanked off clock and central vents are standard or Peugeot parts, I suspect not, but it looks very well done. I have had a look on Service box and cant see the clock planking plate but i wondered if anyone knew anything about them or had seem them before?

Many thanks

The clock blanking plate is fitted to the lower spec models which either don't have a clock or one in the instrument panel

The vent blanking plate is a standard Peugeot part:

Poverty spec models that had the clock on the dash in place of a rev counter had the blanking plate next to the ashtray rather than a clock.

Some of the poverty spec models don't have a glovebox either, just a sort of shelf in its place, and the center console around the gearlever is replaced by a small plastic surround.

Thanks so much chaps, great info, I can't work out the part numer (I hope it is not NFP) for the clock plate. Most of the base 205 at my local breakers have beige interiors, I what a phase 1.5 grey one.

Any ideas?

Its a shame you don't need a black clock blanking plate as I have one left over from when I put and instrument panel with a water temp gauge in our CJ as the new loom came with the wiring for the digital clock

They look quite smart, especially if your clocks not working

I want to put a battery cut off switch on the dash and the clock does work but not always so it would ideal.

NFP just means that new ones aren't being made any more, not necessarily that there are non left. Most of the NFP stuff still comes up with a price on service box, so there's probably load of stock in a French warehouse somewhere.

I personally dont think its any of them, that looks to be a diagram of a non-poverty spec model.

I think what you are after is number 4, without the clock, if you catch my drift.

The description of 3 "plug towball" doesnt sound right at all

What the f*** is a plug towball anyway? They seem to refer to all random parts as plug towballs!

You are right, GLP, a towball covers all sorts of things from nuts to god knows what.

It is definitely 3, its a similar shape to 4 and the first four digits of the part numbers are identical.

I too have never understood the plug towball thing ;)
