Xu 1.6/1.9 Cranshaft Pulley The Same As Mi16 Alloy One?

Recommended Posts

yorkshirekowboy

hello

as above peeps, im needing a camshaft pulley (the part that has teeth for cambelt and has four bolt holes to attach the alternator belt pulley to)

i have a guy selling one from a 205 1.9 engine and was wondering if these are the same as the mi16 alloy engine. I needing one as the bolt has sheared into the hole making me only having three holes left. Ive tried to drill it but the bolt is 10.8 grade i think?

I was thinking the amount of teeth on the pulley and hole where the woodruff key is placed would be different?

regards

dan

Nope, they're completely different between 8v's and Mi16's I'm afraid.

Mi16 and S16 ones are similar, but not sure off the top of my head if they're interchangable - Servicebox isn't playing ball at the moment so I can't check and confirm.

Newer 16v's like GTi-6 are different again.

Is the difference not just the amount of ribs? 8v = 3 / 16v = 4 ??

Pbviously this means you need to run an 8v belt?

I could be wrong though. I cant 100% remember. . . .

don't press too hard and buy the best drill bit you can.

the sprocket is the same one as the 2.0, 0513 46 but the pulley is different.

cross referenced and its only used by the Mi16/T16 engines

Also need to do it at about 800rpm, not flat out 13000rpm.
