306 Tu 1.4 Coolent Temp Sensor

Just looking to change the temp sensor on a 2000 1.4 306 with air con.

 

Are the sensors the same as those on xu lumps as I have one spare.

 

The one from the xu is blue and the one on the 306 appears to be green, does that sound right?

the green one is for the ECU, have another look if you have the engine still, there will be a blue one somewhere in the vicinity of the green one.

 

being from a base model 1.4 it may only be a warning light so single pin, not the 2 pin temp and warning light of the XU.

both sensors on the 306 are 2 pin. the green one seems to be the same size as the xu one we have. do they measure the same values?

I believe they do yes, though I think I may have got confused earlier, do you mean the ecu temperature sensor or the one for the gauges?

Its the temp sensor for the ecu I want to change - what colour is that on the 306?

 

The blue one on the 306 looks different to the xu one I have here, the brass nut bit is a lot deeper on the one thats on the car.
