Loom Questions 8v To Mi16 Conversion

Recommended Posts

Ok few question about this BX loom that I have acquired.

Is it normal that the the coil/ign amp part of the loom isn't connected to anything else?:

The injectors are on their own little loom, which seems helpful? What are the other plugs on this loom?:

Just to show how long the loom is for anyone who hasnt seen one:

Massive loom

So where is this small coil loom supposed to attach onto the main loom, and what are the other plugs attached to the injector part of the loom.

Thanks for the help!

It's normal for a BX loom yes, the booted connector (bronw, 4pin?) should connect it to the rest of the loom.

The injector loom will also have the plugs for the ICV, TPS, Coil?

Couldnt find somewhere for that booted connector to go, but the white one 3 pin fits in somewhere only problem is the plug it fits doesnt have 3 wires connected to it, it is a 3 pin plug but with only 2 wires.

edit: just read your new reply so I guess it must be this 3 pin plug, I'll go get a photo.

On the ignition loom you have two multiplugs, one with three pins which is where it connects to the main loom and one with two pins which is where you feed it switched 12v and also where you get the tacho feed from.

Right sorted with connecting it into the car. Slightly worried about the plug pictured above though.
