Guest Joe_M Posted August 3, 2003 Dont Do it!!!!!! My mate fitted one to his nova 1.2 - sounded like a tank - he took it back off agian after starting it! It wasnt any quieter than when it didnt have a system on!!! I had a BB2 on my Rallye still running the center box & that sounded pretty decent. Still got it if you want it ill be able to let you have for 15 notes if youd like it. I can take it to Donny south if your going? *Sorry for slight hijack*
Gary 2 Posted August 3, 2003 Cheers lads, thats answered that question . Guest Gibbo Posted August 3, 2003 You can still get Cherry Bomb exhausts?!?! These are from the day of 'customised' Opel Ascona's and Escort 1300gt's!

Gary 2 Posted August 4, 2003 Why do they say they are universal,if you have to chop the end of the pipe to fit them on? I really want a loud box but all the ones i have seen, cherry bomb, other peco, rage ect,you need to hack the pipe.Am i missing something here?
Guest Admin Posted August 6, 2003 Just buy some straight exhaust pipe and make you own straight through if you want noise, but i'd recommend you invest money in a paracetamol manufacturer or some industrial ear muffs.
Guest Telf 205 Posted August 6, 2003 tuning.co.uk do some exhausts that actually fit non gti 205's without cutting and so on. I had to custom cut a peco powermaster to fit mine and im well pleased...
Guest Joe_M Posted August 6, 2003 The BB2 isnt a universal one, it's the flange fitting type which is actually for the XS/Rallye - and take about 10 mins to fit, you dont even need to jack the car up!! But there are a few companies that do tailored back boxs
Gary 2 Posted August 6, 2003 Ami right in thinking i can replace the centre silencer with some strong flexi tube?
Guest puggti Posted August 7, 2003 Loads off ppl had these a while ago then they stopped buying them, they renamed them "Red Bullets" now!! He He!!
Guest Joe_M Posted August 7, 2003 Loads off ppl had these a while ago then they stopped buying them, they renamed them "Red Bullets" now!! He He!! Yes + just about all of them ended up novas/fezy's + escorts
Guest Hallsy Posted August 7, 2003 Gary, to sort out your centre section, rather than using flex tube (??) it would be cheapest/easiest to replace it with a centre section from a 1.1 205 as these have a straight through centre section that will be a straight swap for your original centre section. Joe M's backbox would then fit onto this. As an alternative Devil make backbox's that fit non GTI 205's and these are supposed to be quite loud. I originally had a 1.1 centre section on mine running a Janspeed rear box, this wasn't too loud but a quite droney. I then welded an ART racing rear box from a GSXR 750 to replace the Janspeed and this was too loud!! Mega loud in fact!! I ended up welding in a golf centre silencer my mate had laying around to quiten it down!! Incidentally i am going to be swapping my exhaust over for the Grp N system tomorrow, i get bored quickly with exhausts!!
Guest puggti Posted August 7, 2003 I agree wit u Joe, my mate had one on his mk1 Astra when he first got it!! LOL!
Gary 2 Posted August 7, 2003 I bought some metal flex today Specifically for exhausts) to replace the centre box. It's just a case of sawing the centre box out and clamping the flexi. Joe's back box should finish it off nicely Cheers Gary
cybernck 402 1 Cars Posted August 8, 2003 flexi tube is used as a vibration dampener as well .
