Looking At A 309 Gti Later What To Look For?

Recommended Posts

rubyna

I spotted what looks to be a really nice G-plate 309Gti this morning on a run to a neighbouring town, had a look round her seems in really good nick, the

underneath was all solid, rear beam looks to have been rebuilt at some point 10mnths mot 6mths tax, 4 new toyo t1rs etc. Is there anywhere that i should look for nasties or certain things to check?? Ive owned a few 205gtis so im confident looking around them but just want to know if theres any hotspots on its big brother??? Thanks in advance, Luke..

The main one is rust - sills, either side of the fuel tank (there *will* be some rust here), and around the headlight panels seem to be favourites, but look everywhere and anywhere really. If the seller will let you, I'd bring a trolley jack and have a proper poke around underneath.

Otherwise, specifics are mostly as per a 205 really, in addition to the checks you'd do on any other car.
