1.9 Electric Problem Ignition?

Recommended Posts

floodys

basically just put the engine back in the gti following fixing the bottom end, when it fit it first time it started no problem (apart from big end gone!!) now when i turn the key to just before starting, the fuel pump relay go's mad and also the thing bolted to the top of the inlet manifold (round cylinder thing!!) now if i disconnect the crank postion sensor and/or the coil pack it stops, now when i drove car it seemed ok, so couple of questions.

how can i tell if the coil pack is faulty and also the CPS??

Plus any ideas of what mad fuel pump relay prob could be!!! earth maybe??

you can test a coil pack resistance, between pins (the little ones the plug connects to (four of them)) there should be little resistance (under 2ohms) and then from pins to the secondry side (test from pin 2 (although i think any are ok) to the coil-dizzy connection pin.) i would post up pics but im at work.
