Very Daft Quetion About Fuel Pump Wiring

Im running wiring to the fuel pump and as its an XS theres no origional wiring to look at so which of the two wires is + and -?? and if there wrong does it matter??

 

If anyone has a pic that would be great

If you put it the other way the fuel pump will just reverse, so you can easily swap it back and forwards to make sure its pumping rather than sucking.

At the pump, the positive wire is blue and the negative green/yellow (as with all the earth wires) IIRC.

the two wires that come out the pump are both a light blue/terquoise sort of color which is what stumped me

• Fuel pump plug;
  
• Pin 1; Positive wire, blue, # 76
  
• Pin 2, Earth wire, green / yellow #M76.
