Rev Counter

hi

almost finished my s16 conversion and one of the last things to do is get the rev counter working,

im running the engine on carbs using megajolt.

i was wondering if someone could tell me how the revs where originally read when the 1.6 was in there.

Standard setup uses coil, you need a rev counter adaptor.

 

Costs a few quid for components, IIRC Welshpug made one before. If not I might be able to get a batch made up

is it a wire that takes the reading from the coil, because the megajolt ecu has a rev counter wire, so im kind of hopeing that connecting the original wire and this new one will bring the counter to life.

or am i completely off the plot

You will need to connect that rev counter wire to a rev counter adaptor to the standard rev counter.

You could try to rewiring / modifying your present rev counter in one of the ways already tried & tested on this forum.
