Heater No Blow - Does If Unplug From Panel

Recommended Posts

boombang

Heater doesn't blow at all when plugged in, can twist the dial to whatever position and does nowt.

Given it 12volts and goes like a rocket.

If left unplugged from the switch panel, it turns very slowly.

Any ideas welcome!

BTW this is a loom that I've put into my 205 from another car and no idea if it ever worked, ditto the panel itself.

Common fault, prob would have found the answer with a search. Its more than likely the rheostat, gone tits up, just put a wanted thred up for one, two or three screws and it pulls out, job done.

As always tried a search, but so much crap out there didn't put two and two together.

Best part of 10 years of 205's and 309's and never had the common problem of the heater rheostatat failing. In this case though, the loom has been f***ed with a fair bit, so wanted to check that the fan went on when controls uplugged.

A mate was over earlier and whipped out the rheostat. Looked manky, very manky. Signs of muchos heat!

Anyone know what a new one costs now? Pattern or original.
