I'm taking my F plate phase 1.5 CTI apart ready for a full respray... when the funds allow (probably 2020 at this rate!) <_<

I've noticed the interior floor is rust free and the sills look solid.

It makes me think the underside has been under sealed at some point as it's all painted black (whereas its a cream colour on my J plate Gti)

Also the black underseal is painted about up to a third of the way up on the sills to groove on the sill? is this standard? as it looks neat enough to be.

The headlight mounting brackets (part the slam panel bolts to) have rusted though behind the lights where they meet the inner wing, are these the same across the full range of 205's or specific to the CTi? can I still get them? roughly how much are they now?

I removed the roof and most of the parts just crumbled away, I have a better frame, but I'll need new stiffening brackets for sure,

I've looked up the part numbers (8486-35 & 36) but not shopped around yet! are these like hens teeth like the CTi Carpet and window rubbers or not?

Thanks for any replies, they'll be much apreciated!

Alex

M@tt

sounds like what i'm doing with mine

Mine is also painted black on the sills so i'm guessing its standard

The rusted panel is the same across all 205's. Genuine panel from peugeot is mega bucks but you can get an aftermarket panel for £46 delivered from here http://www.nicedeals.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=2974

My hood frame was pretty rusty so i dismantled it and got it shot blasted for £20 then sprayed it myself, only thing i'm struggling to find is a replacement rear hood clamp as mine is well and truely rusted

Thats for the whole front panel including the slam panel not bad for £46,

You can get the Left & right light holder brackets seperate, I'm just not sure if they're the same as the Gti/XS/GT... etc, they look it though.

And it was years ago the last time I bought one for my Old XS I had.

some of the parts for the roof I'm going to get made, or make them my self, they look easy enough to replicate, i.e that clamp strip & Wire.

I'll see if I can get some pics up

Miles

The sills should be black at the bottom, When they are painted the same colour Alarm bells should ring as it's been painted for some reason.

All the fixing's are the same on the light's so no worries there,

The hood brackets etc are worth powder coating as I did all mine and 7 years on they are still as new
