Stub Axel Questions

Recommended Posts

I Require a pair of new stub axels for a 309 beam Im building, I would like you input on a few questions I have though please

1) Are 205 1.9 GTI stub axels the same as 309 GTI ones?

2) I read on here a while back there was two different types? (maybe I misunderstood) some with zero toe, and some with some toe in? I think it was the difference between early and late and the way you could tell was by what shape indent they had in the back (hex and circular) I would of thought the toe would of been detirmed by the trailing arms rather than the stub axels but just checking.

2a) Are these interchangable? (with the trailing arms)

2b) what ones what? (ie hex = early, 0 toe)

3) Where can I get some from? GSF dont seem to do um?

4) How much am I going to pay roughly.

That is all, when you have finished the exam turn your paper over. You will be marked out of 6

Cheers :D

i know 1.6 stub axles are shorter than 1.9

205 gti 1.9 and 309 gti 1.9 are the same

you can't buy them seperately. they come as part of the trailing arm if you buy from main dealer

because they can't be bought seperately, those who might have spares (cough cough) will probably want good money

you can get them separately, special tuning uk want some daft amount for them, and peugeot sport france want £15 each.

YES 1.6 are a different length though, shorter IIRC.

2) I read on here a while back there was two different types? (maybe I misunderstood) some with zero toe, and some with some toe in? I think it was the difference between early and late and the way you could tell was by what shape indent they had in the back (hex and circular) I would of thought the toe would of been detirmed by the trailing arms rather than the stub axels but just checking.

that's the trailing arm, NOT the stub axle

2a) Are these interchangable? (with the trailing arms)

YES

2b) what ones what? (ie hex = early, 0 toe)

Depends on the donor, as above, not the stub axle

3) Where can I get some from? GSF dont seem to do um?

see top.

4) How much am I going to pay roughly.

see above

how many marks then :D
