Yellow Earth Block

Recommended Posts

Guest chris.t

Hi, If the earth blocks behind the n/s head lamp were faulty/broken/corroded etc would this cause a missfire and lights going crazy etc. I guess it would but after some advice. Also is it just a case of cutting of the yellow blocks and making new earths and are all the wires earth wires. Any help much appreciated, Thanks.

Not sure about a misfire, that would be down to earth strap on gbox if it was an earth issue. It would certainly cause the lights to have issues though. Snipping them wires back and using new terminals on a freshly cleaned contact point would cure it also.

Those earths are purely for lights, not part of the engine loom. As above, if the engine and the lights are being affected then check the battery terminals and main earth on the gearbox, certainly no harm in giving them a clean though!

Yep, not much warning given either. A series a miss-fires and then all off followed by a call to the AA.

Checked wiring diagram in manual and looks like fuel pump and injectors are earthed from there!
