New Driveshaft Boots - Where From?

Recommended Posts

Dave_McC

I replaced both inner and outer driveshaft boots about a month ago. Probably only done less than 1000 miles since, and both of them have split. They were Motaquip ones - which certainly seemed fairly thin rubber compared to the ones I removed (which I assume were Pug originals).

Could I have fouled up fitting them, or are Motaquip ones rubbish?

Any suggestions where to source them - are main stealers going to request I drop my trousers for the pair?

Cheers

Dave

Miles

I always use OE one's, They last a good 10 years from new so for the extra couple of quid they are it's worth it

I've used Corrteco from GSF without issues, but as Miles said, the o.e ones last donkeys and don't cost that much more than a quality kit.

AFAIK, my 205's L/H shaft is still original, its 20 years old :)

EuroCarParts do (or certainly did) sell GKN CV boots last time I bought some, and they seem to have lasted well and felt like decent quality.

I got some from GSF and they were good quality.
