Rear Dampers

what is the difference in the 205 and 106 gti's rear dampers??

Tried some old shocks off my old 106 xsi, and they were slighty shorter than the 205 ones. Tried them briefly, car felt bouncy on the back with them on, probably due to being under-dampened. Dont know how much better aftermarket ones would be?

My xsi ones were about 15mm too short, and the bottom bush inner sleeve has about a 5mm protrusion past the bush, meaning the brake pipe bracket fits incorrectly. Mine were purely a spare set so i grinded it down and just tried them round the block. If i could find a cheap uprated set id give them a bash to see how they felt.

was only asking as im going to lower the beam on my 106 and couldnt remeber which way round the shorter ones were
